Welcome to Chrysalis Circle!
Holy Mother, in whom we live, move and have our being,
From You all things emerge, and unto You all things return
Open our hearts, this blessed day, touch our bodies and our minds
Walk with us through the gates of power
In shadow and starlight, in fire meeting earth
In the wind on the ocean, and the sweet Kiss of Life
Blessed be our journey
Victor Anderson / T. Thorn Coyle
The invocation above is how we start every class.
It is part of how we prepare ourselves for the work we do.
Chrysalis Circle is a Wiccan (Eclectic Tradition) studies and teaching group local to the Denver, CO metro area.
The best way to start in our group is to begin with the Basics Class. It is good review and all pick up some new information. This way you familiarize yourself with us and we with you. We have found this to be the way that works to make good relationships.
Chrysalis Circle teaches several spirituality classes.
This course is designed for students new to the Craft and those who are curious about what Wicca is all about – without having to commit to a full course of study. Classes will be 2-4 hours in length, depending on the topic. Start dates and times will be determined based on the students’ availability. This course is 8 Sessions. the next class will be in early 2014.
Foundations of Wicca
This course is meant for those who have basic knowledge of Wicca and have the desire to know more. This type of study is traditionally called, ‘A Year and a Day’, and is designed to provide seekers with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to achieve first degree initiate level. This 27 session course, taught by experienced teachers over the period of a year, will meet at least twice a month for 4-6 hours (with breaks). Completing this course prepares students for more advanced work.
This course started on September 16, 2012.
Framework of Wicca
This course is meant for those who have more complete knowledge of Wicca and have the desire to get even deeper into their spirituality. This type of study is designed to provide seekers with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to achieve advanced levels of knowledge. This indeterminate length course, taught by experienced teachers over the period of a year or more, will meet at least once a month for 4-6 hours (with breaks). Completing this course prepares students for more advanced work.
This course started on September 29, 2013.
Second Annual Drumming Down the Sun June 21, 2013
We celebrated the Solstice by drumming, dancing, and laughing in the season. This year seemed to be the “well behaved dog year”. Many dogs were loose and having a good time, getting petted by everyone. Great drumming, guinea pigs, spinners, and new this year, glowing hula hoops.
Partly cloudy and slightly hotter than last year, made for great pictures of Moon and Sun. geese were plentiful again, and no baseball tournament so there was abundant parking. There were first time drummers that received an excellent education and a table for the Orpheus Pagan Choir was fielding questions about their group.
We held the First Annual Drumming Down The Sun on June 20, 2012
Over 120 members of the pagan community came to this new metro area event. There was some very fine drumming, flutes, spinners, yoga, dancing, laughter, popcorn, pirates, faeries, Green Man, a snake, a guinea pig, well behaved happy children (on the playground equipment), and big smiles. The geese were friendly (and very close if you had food). Even one of the trash cans got played!
The weather had been very hot until that day, when there was about a 15° drop in temperature to something much more pleasant. Many people were very happy about a Summer Solstice drumming event being celebrated on a temperate evening, in comfy clothes. Although the clouds were slightly obscuring the view of the Sun (and later the Moon) setting, it was still a magical night. We were very glad that so many people attended and enjoyed the night with their friends. We enjoyed seeing all of our (new and old) friends and we were glad we could offer an event that was accessible by all members of our community.
Our reasoning behind offering this event was to balance the energies between the light half and the dark half of the Wiccan Year. There is much spiritual work that can be done during both times of year.
The question most asked? “Are you going to do it again?”, and answered, “YES!”
What is the main reason to join Chrysalis Circle? I feel the reason should be something like, “If you want what we have, then join us.”
What should Advanced Wicca be about?
An energetic interchange of learning, spirituality, and connection.
We do not come into this spirituality without deep thought and self-examination. We want an enriching experience. By learning the deeper meaning and reason behind what we do, we connect more closely with the Divine.
New Wicca Basic class soon!
